Big Rains Are Coming!

In the face of a 3 year draught, Elijah prayed with confidence. Seven times he sent his friend back to look for clouds. On the 7th look, his assistant saw a cloud the size of a hand. That was all it took for Elijah to proclaim, "Big rains are coming!" He had not seen any rain, nor had he even seen the actual hand sized cloud, and yet he was willing to proclaim the pending torrential downpour.

What does prayer look like for us? Are we persistent? Do we ask with a single focus, knowing their is a compassionate and merciful Father listening? Do we ask with selfless intentions? James covers all these aspects of prayer, and in chapter five he uses the prayer of Elijah for rain as the ultimate example.
