Around the end of the regular NFL season, teams do not wait long before making changes. If they were unable to qualify for the playoffs, then they evaluate the reason why, and begin holding players, and coaches, responsible for the lack of success. Some fans who become overly frustrated with their team, shift their allegiance. Does that same fickle fan mentality ever find its way into faith?

In Exodus 24:18, we are told that Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights on a ...mountain conversing with God. He made a habit of this, and the Israelites grew impatient with his extended departures from the community. In chapter 32, the people got so tired of waiting that they shifted their allegiance. Not only were ready to trade Moses for his brother Aaron, but they also swapped their faith in the living God, who delivered them from Egypt, to serve a small golden cow. No loyalty!
