UPCOMING SERVICE EVENTS
Give birthday presents to needy children who otherwise wouldn’t receive a gift. We donate toys, then wrap and deliver gifts to social services so they can give them to the children in their care.
If you would like to join us and volunteer to support people in need of food, clothing, furniture, toys and household goods, during this weekly distribution program, please contact Stephanie Tipeni.
Hosting chinese students
Many of our church families have hosted Chinese exchange students during the summer weeks, giving them the experience of living in an American, Christian home.
NOVA HTI (Human Trafficking Initiative) which was created to help victims of trafficking. The needs are from Target gift cards for basic things all the way up to providing a place for someone to live.
If any of these interest you or if you have a special gift you’d like to share, please let Sandra Cravens know. She would love to get you connected.
Have a passion to serve? There are many areas where you can put your gifts, talents, and abilities to work.
Leadership Excursions - Impacting the World, One Excursion at a Time - was launched to reach out to individuals and groups with the mission of training leaders who will impact the world. Our Lead Pastor, Will Cravens, also directs this nonprofit's parent company Endurance Leadership, giving Bridge Community Church guidance as we move beyond the borders of Northern Virginia. Bridge has the opportunity to experience international missions first-hand through our partnership with Endurance Leadership. If you're interested in exploring mission trip opportunities, please let us know or go to Leadership Excursions to view trip locations and schedules. Our past excursions have taken us to Peru, Italy, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ghana, Uruguay, Nicaragua, and many other locations. For more information please contact Sandra Cravens.
Other Serving Teams within the Church
Since we only have a few part-time staff, it leaves a lot of room for volunteers to step in, help, and make a difference.
Friendly smiles and authentic conversation is our goal, to truly welcome everyone into God’s house. Our weekly needs are two greeters (commitment is typically twice every 2-3 months), and one Setup/Communion volunteer (commitment is typically once a month).
Greeters will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to service in order to grab a welcome name-tag and lanyard, grab some bulletins, and join in on pre-service prayer. Greeting is typically from 4:45 to 5:10.
Setup/Communion volunteers will need to arrive 45-60 minutes prior to service in order to setup signs, gather bulletins for greeters (10 minutes), prepare and setup communion (20 minutes), and be done 15 minutes prior to service.
For more information on the Welcome Team, please contact Carolee Locklear.
Putting on a Service on Sundays takes a lot of behind-the-scenes effort. A part of that effort is the responsibility of the Tech Team, who makes sure everything sounds great and looks great. We are always looking for people to help us out on our Sunday mission. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Alexa Sales.
Our worship team works very hard to find songs that are meaningful and encouraging to the body of Christ, and that appeal to a broad audience. You'll find our band playing a wide range of styles, from folksy acoustic-style sets, to edgy guitar-driven praise & worship. Regardless of the song, our team leads with passion in an effort to connect people with the Spirit of God through music. For more information on the worship team, please contact Erik Palmer.
